The Chartered Institute of Marketing is in Manchester this week and they’ll be urging members to take control of their own careers, rather than relying on their employers to provide them with training.
The seminar takes place at the Manchester Art Gallery on Thursday, where delegates will discuss how training and development ought to be changed with reference to the current economic and business climate. "Due to an increased lack of loyalty from both employees and employers, fewer organisations are willing to invest the time and money into employees’ professional development," explained Diane Earles, Regional Director of CIM North. "Therefore, it is vitally important for employees in today’s market to take responsibility for their own learning and training." During the session there will be the regional launch of the CIM’s Continuous Professional Development Portal (CPD) to help marketers take their careers forward. Something to add?
