Internet entrepreneur joins Tangerine
Russell Hirst has joined Tangerine PR to head up its online team.

26-year-old Hirst is a specialist in viral marketing and is already a successful internet entrepreneur.

How-Do met up with him in 2007 just after he sold valueflora.com for a "reasonable amount" - the turnover was £1.5m and he started the company with a tenner.

We weren't the only one's to keep a close eye on him as valueflora was a Tangerine client...

"I didn’t have to think too hard to see the opportunity joining the team as head of digital would present," explained Hirst.

"I’m currently auditing the online offer and have found a great willingness to improve, learn and try new things.  I’ll be working across all three of the Tangerine offers - PR, PA and events and there are opportunities everywhere."

"Tangerine has of course been operating in the digital space for some years but we recently decided we wanted to increase our exposure and capability," explained Sandy Lindsay, group MD.

"We had kept in touch with Russ since our days of working together and he was the obvious first call.  This appointment is an excellent step for us both and we are also already benefitting from the SEO experience that Russ has brought to the business."

The company will now been providing digital public relations as a stand alone service which will include digital branding, online reputation management and blogging.
