IPB Communications ups digital ante with ‘interactive web TV’ offering | Print |  Email to a friend

IPB has launched an interactive web television service in an effort to take advantage of the popularity of web TV channels and offer clients something other than traditional press releases, brochures, road-shows and the like.

IPB has launched an interactive web television service in an effort to take advantage of the popularity of web TV channels and offer clients something other than traditional press releases, brochures, road-shows and the like.
The public sector agency, which recently revealed that it has consulted with over 1m people on behalf of its clients, now claims to offer a full broadcast package that includes, amongst other things, digital video production, film crews, editing and webcasting.

Explaining the move, IPB MD Stewart Pimbley said: "Traditionally, we've always encouraged our clients to communicate through the use of newsletters, road-shows and DVD's – and they are still very effective.

“However, digital broadcasting allows us to go one step further and we believe webTV will now be an integral part of any public consultation exercise as well as a new way for clients to promote their services.

"It is clear that Britain's media landscape is rapidly changing and that increasingly people turn to the internet to source news and information.

"We have introduced the service on our own website, so as well as showcasing IPB's skills, it also demonstrates the benefits of webTV in a highly interactive way."

IPB, which was formed by chief executive Tony Ingham six years ago, now ranks as the biggest public sector PR agency outside London, working with clients including local authorities and housing associations, Tesco, Work Solutions, Keepmoat and Rochdale Development Agency.
