Cheshire information company j4b has launched what it claims is the UK’s first green funding website exclusively for businesses.
The site allows visitors to negotitate their way around over £1.2 bn worth of funding programmes on its free online searchable database - www.greengrantsmachine.co.uk – which has been created to help private sector organisations access the latest information on funding available to improve their environmental performance and reduce their energy costs.
The publisher claims th at it is the first time that much of the information has been made available free as previously it was on a subscription-only basis.
Jeremy Phillips, managing director of j4b, said: “For the last eight years j4b has helped people find out about business and community grants and we have noticed a steady rise in searches for ‘environmental grants’.
“In response, we are delighted to be able to offer this entirely free-to-use environmental grants search facility. We have already found sponsors for the site, which enables us to offer all our data in this area free-of-charge to all users following a simple and brief registration.”
The information is updated daily and the website features more than 350 funding schemes available from local, regional, national and European sources. The website also includes “plain English advice about how any organisation can take simple actions to go green”.
The site was built by j4b and designed by Go, the design arm of ad agency AWA.
