Stockport digital marketing agency KMP has combined a new digital press room launch with a debate on the future of public relations. The new product is Ackura PressRoom and they say it brings PR into the digital age.
"The PR industry has been pretty dormant of late, and whilst other brand-based communication disciplines have embraced the 2.0 revolution, PR has predominantly been left behind,” explained KMP chairman Bill Daring.
KMP They will presumably explain what Web 2.0 is in their seminar on June 25th, entitled The Future of PR Technology.
KMP’s press office says that the tradition of a PR typing up press releases and then sending them out to journalists has changed – they typed in a press release, which they then sent to How-Do.
Nowadays it’s all about blogging, social networking, search engines and news aggregators.
(For the luddites out there, Web 2.0 is all about interactive gizmos and gadgets on the internet - like wiki’s, blogs, Skype and so on. We read that on Wikipedia – which is like, so Web 2.0). Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
