How-Do is pleased to announce the launch of a major new initiative, the Top 100 North West Brands. The initiative is being undertaken in association with leading law firm Hill Dickinson together with the CBI and the CIM.
Mediavest Manchester will be providing additional media analysis and the research will be conducted and overseen by research company Ci, based in Wilmslow.
Such rankings of recognised brands are regularly undertaken on a national or international basis, but all four lead participants – How-Do, Hill Dickinson, the CBI and the CIM – believe the region is home to so many successful brands, it more than deserves its own showcase.
In most UK regions, a ranking of 100 notable brands would prove a challenge to assemble but the North West is home to a surprisingly large number of brands and in fact the toughest task ahead will be to narrow the number of entrants down to just 100.
To name just a few: Pilkingtons, Warburtons, moneysupermarket.com, the Co-op, Pataks, Swinton Insurance, Topps Tiles, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Littlewoods, ITV Granada, Elegant Resorts, Love Hearts – the list of great names goes on.
Voting will be by sector but there will be an overall winning brand plus some extra categories such as “one to watch” and a public sector nomination.
The online questionnaire will go live in the next few days and in total, well over 10,000 businesses, marketing and media folk will have an opportunity to vote.
Given the nature of the partners in this venture, the results will be more meaningful in terms of peer group review than a consumer-led initiative might be.
The CBI and CIM will be asking their 8,000 North West members to contribute their views while How-Do will be featuring the initiative over the coming weeks.
The results will be announced in October at a special event organised by Hill Dickinson which is this year celebrating the tenth anniversary of the opening of its Manchester office. The firm’s main base is in Liverpool.
