Paver Downes and Event Marketing Solutions of Chester have joined forces in a campaign to launch a £15million training drive in Merseyside.
The Skillstruck The two have been taken on by the LSC to raise awareness of the Skillsworks training programme and the supporting European Social Fund money that has recently been released. They aim to publicise this through a five-week regional road show - which rolled into action yesterday - that uses a grand-prix styled ‘Skillstruck’ as its focal point. The truck, which transports one-to-one training advisors and interactive installations, was custom made by EMS and is scheduled to visit 25 locations across the region. To build up a buzz prior to its arrival a ‘hit squad’ will visit each destination the day before, in a branded Mini Cooper, handing out promotional literature. Paul Tinsley, Partnership Manager at the Learning and Skills Council Greater Merseyside, said of the initiative: “SkillWorks is one of the most successful training programmes ever run on Merseyside (having helped some 7,000 businesses so far) and this campaign will play a vital role in helping more businesses to benefit from this huge injection of funding. “The face-to-face focus provides the perfect environment for explaining the detail of the offer and encouraging businesses to take the next step.” A dedicated website – www.skillstruck.co.uk – has been created by Gap Infomedia, also of Liverpool, to support the campaign.
