LOVE hurts – someone gets Fresh as awards go AWOL | Print |  Email to a friend

Losing one award is careless. Two, remiss. And three? Criminal! So, there’s been an outbreak of mass mourning, wild finger pointing and profuse profanities at Manchester’s LOVE, after all EIGHT of the agency's latest Fresh awards went AWOL/got nicked.

The team picked up the bumper haul last Thursday night, collecting four golds, three silvers and a bronze at the bash in the Printwork’s Pure venue. That tally saw them emerge as one of the top performing agencies outside of London, gaining recognition for work with Umbro, Silver Cross and Urban Splash, amongst others.

Being so proud of their achievements the team rapidly proceeded to dump the awards at a table holding a selection of other gongs and ‘hit the shandy’. When they returned to collect their winnings they found out that someone else had beat them to it.

We’ll let MD Alistair Sim take up the story.

“Well there were eight of them and being made out of great big lumps of Perspex they were quite heavy, and a bit slippy. Because we didn’t have a big enough carrier bag with us – it would have been a bit presumptuous to bring one along - we thought we’d drop them off somewhere for safe keeping.”

When asked if he thought someone had stolen them Sim replied: “well, there are one or two merry jape-sters out there.” He did add, however, that this had never happened to the agency before and thought it was unlikely that LOVE had been singled out for an awards crime of such magnitude.

If anyone knows where said gongs are please get in touch with Alistair on 0161 907 3150.

How-Do would like to remind readers that this hasn’t happened before and there may well be a perfectly innocent explanation.

So, please everybody, don’t have nightmares…
