South African spicy chicken chain Nando’s has appointed Manchester agency LOVE to develop a national advertising campaign for the brand’s retail range.
Peri peri invades UK homes LOVE won the business following a three way pitch against two other agencies, believed to be Dinosaur and BDH.
The Nando’s range is sold and marketed in the UK by The Grocery Company, which also handles the retail brand product ranges for wagamama, Cranks and Pizza Express.
Nando’s is hoping to capitalise on the increasing success of its fast-growing national chain of restaurants with the introduction of branded sauces, marinades and dips in supermarkets.
Ben Johnson, marketing director at The Grocery Company, said: “LOVE has impressed us with the freshness of their thinking and have given us a media-flexible big idea that we’re really excited about”.
Frank Carolan at LOVE added: “There is huge potential to take the unique Nando’s experience into home usage. Nando’s has bags of personality and isn’t afraid to experiment and challenge conventions, so working with this brand is going to be great fun.”
