A McDonalds in Liverpool may have bitten off more than it can chew after putting up photos of Sir Paul McCartney in one of its restaurants.
A strict vegetarian for decades, Macca is said not to even allow meat products backstage at the venue where he’s playing. (If you liked that link, we also recommend this link for pure lunacy).
He saw the photograph
Now he’s urging fans to boycott the entire chain.
Public Relations watchers will also be interested to see that Geoff Baker has returned to the side of the former Beatle after their falling out in 2004.
He was quoted in several newspapers as Paul McCartney’s spokesperson:
"It's ridiculous and insulting to use images to peddle hamburgers," he said. "Fans should boycott McDonald's, and not just in Liverpool."
McDonalds defended the pictures saying that they were to acknowledge The Beatles' outstanding contribution to local and global culture.
