Fast Web Media has been charged with promoting Manchester as an unrivalled sporting destination ahead of the city’s ‘Manchester World Sport 08’.
The appointment follows a tendering and pitch process presided over by the City Council, which is keen to ensure that Manchester’s busiest year of sport since the 2002 Commonwealth Games is a complete success. A world-class venue The Quay Street firm, which employs 30 staff, will now utilise its sports marketing experience to push the series of events that make up the 08 program. These include: the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, the Fina World Swimming Championships, the Uefa Cup final, the Bupa Great Manchester Run and the Hi-Tec World Squash Championships.Speaking to How-Do about the impending task, Hugo Sharman, the agency’s new business director, explained: “We’re going to form part of a stakeholders group that includes the council, Marketing Manchester, UK Sport and the NWDA. “It’s our job to profile and present the city as a leading sports destination; in terms of both the quality of the facilities and the breadth of events that go on here. We’ll be using a combination of PR and digital methods to achieve that, with a mixture of online and social media channels.” Fast Web Media was formed in 1995 and deals with a number of leading sports and sports associated clients. These include Uefa, the Premier League, Nationwide and Carling. http://www.fastwebmedia.com Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
