Mason Media launches new specialist division | Print |  Email to a friend

Liverpool’s Mason Media has set up a reputation and crisis management division as MD Nick Mason looks to expand the PR operation.

Liverpool’s Mason Media has set up a reputation and crisis management division as MD Nick Mason looks to expand the PR operation.
Mason said that he took the decision to create the standalone unit, christened Reputations Matter, in response to an increase in the amount of enquiries flowing into the firm about this specific realm.

He explained: “During the past few months Mason Media has worked closely with businesses, charities and the public sector on reputation and crisis management issues.

“On some occasions the crisis had already occurred, but on others businesses had realised the need to put in place robust procedures to help them cope when something does go wrong.

“This, combined with the specialist crisis management consultants in our team, encouraged me to launch Reputations Matter.”

The agency has also welcomed new recruits Simon Malia, a former MUTV and Granada Reports journalist, Barry Gregory, who joined from Warrington Borough Council, and recent graduate Jo Bishop.

In addition Mason Media has now launched its new company website, designed by Chester’s Clicky Media.

It can be found at www.masonmedia.co.uk

What's with the persistent obsession with journos thinking they can run a business just because they " understand the way pr should work?"

Not a picture in sight on this website...not even on the blog. In my humble opinion potential clients want to see the people with whom they might have to work. .or is that the point?

I agree Diogenes.

Surely to be a good PR agency you have to PR yourself to a degree - and I don't think that means hogging potential coverage that could be for a client.

why so cloak and dagger?

On the website it says they are have some of the best media consultants in the business - but who are they?

Interesting strategy. With the credit crunch looming are companies really going to cough up money in advance for a crisis that may never happen when cash flow is tight?
