Mason Williams dines out on steakhouse win

Manchester-based PR agency Mason Williams has won a four-way pitch to launch Gillray’s, a new steakhouse and bar opening at the London Marriott Hotel County Hall in March.

The firm said its team has an "impressive pedigree" in restaurant and bar launches having worked for Michel Roux Jr at Parliament Square, Tom Aikens at Somerset House, Vermilion and Cinnabar in Manchester, plus Opus One, Alto and the bar at the Radisson Edwardian in Peter Street, Manchester.

Managing director Rita Rowe said: "This was a very competitive pitch against some of the best consumer agencies in the country so the win is especially sweet.

"Gillray’s Steakhouse and Bar will be a famous destination restaurant that will be a must for anyone visiting the capital and we are both excited and delighted that a northern agency will be putting a stamp on the personality and the promotion of this wonderful new dining experience.”

Sioned Parry-Rudlin, director of sales and marketing for The London Marriott Hotel County Hall - located at the old Greater London Council building on the Thames - said: “We were particularly impressed with Mason Williams’ passion and creativity.

"Their enthusiasm, zest and energy really hooked us at the pitch and we are really happy with our campaign. The agency will help us to create something new in the capital that locals and visitors from UK and abroad will hear about.”
