James & Taylor, which promotes itself as the UK’s leading supplier of building façades, has appointed Manchester agency Mason Williams to manage its media relations.
The agency had to pitch for the business against three other undisclosed agencies.
Selfridges James & Taylor, based in New Malden, Surrey has designed façades for a number of architecturally acclaimed buildings throughout the world, including New York’s New Museum of Contemporary Art, Selfridges in Birmingham and the Young Vic theatre which was named London Building of the Year 2007 by RIBA. The company was established in 1988 and initially concentrated on bricks. Its portfolio of products now includes terracotta, natural and cast stone, masonry, metal cladding systems and a whole range of other natural cladding materials, many of which the company claims are unique to it.
Bob James, managing director of James & Taylor said: “We wish to raise the profile of the company. Mason Williams’ energy, determination and professionalism inspired us to work with them and I have no doubt they can help us to realise our potential.”
Rita Rowe of the agency, said: “Mason Williams will run a trade campaign in the UK and worldwide to make the company’s name as high profile as its designs. James & Taylor offers a huge range of cutting edge designs that are literally changing the face of landmark buildings across the world.”
