McCann’s double recruitment raid on Orange and Cheetham Bell
McCann Erickson Communications House (MECH) has completed two big signings for its digital operation. Orange’s UK Head of Entertainment and Cheetham Bell JWT’s Head of Digital are both heading to the Cheshire agency.

Former Orange exec, Gavin Forth will become Digital Development Director. He cut his teeth at Guinness and Boots, before heading to the mobile phone company, where he was responsible for development and delivery of entertainment.

At MECH he will be tasked with expanding their digital sector.

"This is a great opportunity and I’m delighted to be joining a fantastic team at an exciting time in the development of digital communications," explained Forth.

"I believe the experience I have gained in both online and mobile with Orange can play a key role in helping the agency further develop what is already a very strong digital offering."

McKay

Cheetham Bell JWT’s Kevin McKay returns to McCann as Digital Technical Director, with responsibility for development and innovation. He was previously in its healthcare operation.

MECH now has more than 45 people in its digital operation, following a series of appointments.

"At a time of economic uncertainty clients are looking to maximise return on investment of their marketing spend and the digital channel delivers total traceability and accountability," said chief executive Sue Little.

"As an agency we are looking to deliver a totally results focused digital approach that integrates seamlessly with our overall offering. All organisations, be they commercial or public sector, are having to communicate with consumers across multiple channels and in many cases digital is at the centre of this. By further strengthening our team we are aiming to create the strongest integrated digital offering in the UK."
