McCann Erickson has picked up the three-year, seven-figure brief to provide social marketing campaigns for Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Primary Care Trust [PCT].
The Prestbury-based agency collected the contract after a three-way, COI administered pitch and will now handle the fully integrated account for the PCT – a piece of business that spans digital, media, creative and PR.
McCann’s campaigns will aim to work towards the PCT’s objective of improving the health, and health services, of the people in the area, confronting issues arising from alcohol and smoking abuse and diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular conditions.
In a statement released by the agency yesterday, Marilyn Simpson, programme director for social marketing for the PCT , said: “This is great news for the Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT.
“We are confident that McCann’s will provide us with thought provoking campaigns which will really help to raise awareness of the issues across the PCT area.
“We hope that these campaigns will provoke real discussion and encourage people to consider the effect of obesity, smoking, cancer and alcohol on their health.” Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
