Following a competitive pitch, McCann Erickson has been appointed by Hoover to handle a floorcare products project for an autumn launch.

It is understood that the brief currently encompasses just the creative aspect of the launch with the media yet to be determined. The value of the project has not been disclosed.

McCanns in Prestbury led on the pitch supported by McCanns’ offices in France and Italy. The agency competed against the London offices of two other network agencies to secure the business. The other agencies have not been disclosed although Y&R has been a regular mainstay on the Hoover rota for several years.

In May McCanns scooped another sizeable international project when it won the £10m InterContinental Hotels account across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Agency boss Sue Little said: “We are tremendously excited to have secured the opportunity to work with an iconic brand such as Hoover. This represents a great win for the agency and is yet another demonstration of our ability to win European business.”
