Cheshire mobile marketing agency Mediaburst, has announced that it’s acquired text-messaging specialist Promptext.
Mediaburst says that this will allow the company to consolidate messaging volumes and provide the Oxfordshire company’s customers with an enlarged product range.
While Mediaburst has been developing Outlook Mobile Service and MMS, Promptext has specialised in text messaging for small and medium enterprises.
"The acquisition of Promptext's UK customer base is a significant development for Mediaburst and demonstrates our ability to plug-in additional customers and consolidate mobile messaging volumes," said Gary Bury, Mediaburst's managing director.
Promptext’s founder, Robert Ling said that his company was profitable, and the reason for the tie-in was that it would be good for its client base:
“We now feel that we can better serve our customers by passing them into the very capable hands of Mediaburst. It has possibly the finest set of SMS and MMS services available, and an exemplary reputation for customer support and service."
Mediaburst had employed Harlequin Corporate Finance to look for suitable acquisition targets. Neither company revealed how much the deal is worth. Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
