Cereal bar brand Eat Natural is attempting to demonstrate that it can advertise without using advertising agencies, with a new magazine campaign that will be created entirely by consumers.
Tasty idea? The activity, planned by Manchester’s Mediavest, is kick starting with full page print ads asking consumers ‘what do you think we should put here’ – encouraging them to submit their own ideas for the campaign.Once enough ideas are harvested a winner will then be picked, with his, her or their concepts appearing as another print burst across food, lifestyle and woman’s magazines from September. The public (or How-Do readers for that matter) can submit their ideas directly onto Eat Natural’s website. Praveen Vijn, one of the founders of Eat Natural, was quoted as saying that “we're not really an 'advertising' kind of company, so we thought we'd let our consumers say it for us." (Although they’re clearly not quite ready to entrust them with the media schedule as yet.) The campaign has been devised to raise brand awareness and boost sales. Something to add?
