Mills Media has completed the event management and production services for a 5 day maritime congress, which has been 4 years in the planning.
The 125th anniversary congress of PIANC - the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure took place at the BT Convention Centre in Liverpool, with 600 delegates, partners and exhibitors from 41 countries.
“The PIANC MMX Congress was the largest event we have ever organised and it utilised every service and department that we offer,” said Andrew Mills, managing director of Mills Media.
“We provided full exhibition, event and AV planning, production and management, photography, design, e-marketing, video and audio recording. Aside from the congress itself we also organised a number of social activities for the delegates, with the assistance of The Mersey Partnership, such as tours of North West landmarks including the Port of Liverpool, Mersey Tunnels, Mersey Ferry Buffet Cruises and the Anderton Canal Boat Lift.”
The company had 53 members of staff and contractors on site, including a 14-strong management team, a technical production team and 20-man rig and de-rig crew. It also had 2 photographers and 3 people filming it all.
“We chose Liverpool to host the event as the facilities and maritime history really appealed to PIANC,” explained Mike Thorn, chairman of the PIANC MMX organising committee.
“The support and event management of Mills Media gave us a memorable congress with nothing but praise from our international delegates. They loved the facilities in the city and commented that the event production was of the highest standards.”
