It is with great sadness that How-Do reports that John Peters, the chairman of Native and founder of TDM Marketing Associates, has passed away.
Peters died after what a former colleague described as “several years of poor health”, leaving a wife and two adult sons. He was laid to rest last week after a service at Stockport Crematorium. He set up TDM in the late eighties, growing the Cheshire-based PR agency into a well-respected regional B2B operator. In 2004 Peters merged the company with Colin Sneath’s Credo, forming the new entity Native which, at the time, employed some 27 members of staff. Peters took the role of chairman at the firm, but was forced back into taking day to day responsibility when Sneath departed earlier this year. Native subsequently went into administration at the start of October. Speaking about Peters, his former colleague told How-Do: “He was just such a very, very nice man and that was reflected in the number of people that turned up to his funeral. “People came from far and wide to pay their respects and there was standing room only at the crematorium. “I was totally shocked and saddened to hear the news about John. He was very well liked by everyone.” Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
