Regional agencies will be steeling themselves to battle it our for a new, lucrative public sector contract with NewHeartlands, taking in disciplines including design, print and web-based activity.
The organisation is one of the government’s nine housing market renewal pathfinders and looks to target problems of ‘market failure’ in neighbourhoods across Merseyside (specifically Liverpool, Wirral and Sefton). As such it plans to target disadvantaged communities and regenerate the areas through a programme of demolition, refurbishment and new build projects. In all NewHeartlands is looking to build 23,000 properties, demolish 10,500 and refurbish 63,000 across its lifespan, which is roughly expected to be the next decade.  Home is where the Heartlands are Improvements to the environment, public transport and health infrastructure will also be made.The marketing and communications contracts at stake run for the course of the next two years and are worth some £500,000 to the selected agency partners. They have been divided into nine lots spanning across marketing consultancy, design, web services, print, photography and ‘audio visual’ requirements. Liverpool City Council is administering the tendering process, with applications invited before 12 January for a contract starting date of 1 April.
