Fashion retailer, Next, under increasing pressure from a resurgent M&S and the success of Primark, is reviewing its £2m media planning and buying account which is currently held by MediaVest Manchester.
The business has been with MediaVest Manchester for over ten years, primarily related to the Next Directory and direct response advertising. It is understood the agency was informed by the client of its decision yesterday.
Last autumn, the first above the line brand advertising for Next appeared and it is believed the retailer’s new marketing director intends to invest substantially (£10m+) on brand promotion in the future.
A new campaign fronted by Yasmin le Bon is expected to break shortly.
It is believed that the agencies Next is talking to are all London-based.
