How-Do has learnt that Peter Mearns, the NWDA's executive director of marketing and communications, is set to leave the regional development agency.
Mearns has been with the NWDA for the past ten years, but has now announced his intention to leave the organisation at the end of June. Prior to this tenure he was the head of marketing for Birmingham City Council. Mearns departs... Mearns will be succeeded by current director of marketing Nigel Dove, who will now step up to lead the marketing and communications department, overseeing a budget of several million pounds and controlling relationships with dozens of regional marketing suppliers. In a statement provided to How-Do, NWDA chief executive Steven Broomhead said: “Over the past ten years, Peter has played an instrumental role in supporting the development of the region’s economy through his leadership of the Northwest’s marketing programme. ...and Dove ascends "He has also done much to enhance the reputation and awareness of the NWDA itself. "On behalf of the Agency I would like to wish him the very best for the future. I am very pleased that he will continue to be engaged in a number of Agency projects over the coming months. “Following Peter’s departure, the Agency’s director of marketing Nigel Dove will head up the marketing & communications department.” Dove has effectively handled much of the day to day running of the department for some time, and is arguably the most public face of the agency’s marketing operations in the region. www.nwda.co.uk Something to add?
