NWDA decides on design panel agencies | Print |  Email to a friend

After a lengthy wait it appears as thought the North West Development Agency has finally decided upon the make-up of its design services panel.
After a lengthy wait it appears as thought the North West Development Agency has finally decided upon the make-up of its design services panel.

At the time of writing How-Do was able to confirm that Glorious Creative, Vivid, Kaleidoscope, Mark Studio and Hemisphere had definitely been contacted by the NWDA and admitted to the panel. At least one other agency is also believed to have been signed up.

However, NWDA spokespeople were unwilling to confirm that these firms were the victors in the process, informing How-Do that no statement to that effect would be forthcoming until all the final contracts were signed and in place.

This is not expected to take place until next week at the earliest.

The NWDA was originally looking to invite five or six teams to take the position of preferred supplier status, handling all the RDA’s design needs going forwards for the next three years.

It is known that over 100 companies expressed interest in joining the panel, with ten eventually making it through to the final pitching stage.

The previous design panel was made up of Hemisphere, Madhouse, Creative Lynx, Loine Furnival, Refinery and Kaleidoscope.

What does this actually mean for the agencies involved?

A lot of sitting around wondering when they're going to get a call, then getting one and realising they have to pitch for every job.

I'm sure the agencies themselves are scratching their heads wondering if this is worth celebrating or not.

Sure a couple will benefit regularly, but the rest might just be sitting on the sidelines for years.

Is there not a better way for the NWDA to divvy up their workload?

i think it is worth celebrating. from hundreds of agencies they have been shortlisted for the potential to work on great projects with good briefs and sizeable budgets

can you think of a fairer / better way to 'divvy up their workload'??
