The NWDA has started the statutory review of its ‘design panel’, drawing up a shortlist of 12 agencies that will be whittled down to six or seven to replace the current roster of preferred suppliers. At present this is made up of Hemisphere, Madhouse, Creative Lynx, Loine Furnival, Refinery and Kaleidoscope.
The development agency carries out the review process every three years as part of its commitment to get the best suppliers for the taxpayer’s money. As such the review is in no way a reflection of any dissatisfaction with the current crop of regional marketing suppliers. Speaking to How-Do about the process, the NWDA’s Neil Roscoe said that he could not reveal the names of the competing agencies as, in some cases, they had yet to be informed. He did, however, confirm that the pack would be pared back to “about six or seven” firms, which would then be informed of their success at the start of January. Roscoe added that the design review would not be affecting PR, where a roster is already in place, but would ‘touch on’ the small amount of advertising work the regional development agency currently carries out. The successful companies, once on the roster, will compete amongst one another for the various briefs the NWDA releases. At present it is unknown if the agencies that make up the current panel have opted to re-pitch for the business. www.nwda.co.uk Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
