O’Grady reveals good looking win for Democracy | Print |  Email to a friend
Wednesday, 30 April 2008
Democracy PR founder Jennifer O’Grady has been talking to How-Do about her firm’s latest win, The Gentry Grooming Company.

The former Brazen director has been brought in by Gentry to help the firm raise the profile of its fledgling franchising operation, bolster its online presence and push male grooming further up the media agenda, both on and offline.

Democracy PR founder Jennifer O’Grady has been talking to How-Do about her firm’s latest win, The Gentry Grooming Company.
Gentry: a tidy brand
O’Grady told How-Do that, for the first time, Gentry was looking at “a sustained PR approach,” rather than its previous sporadic project work, and she was hoping to “settle in” with the client for a long-term push.

One of her team’s main tasks in the immediate future, she revealed, would be the re-launching of the existing three Manchester-based outlets and PR support for the new franchises that are due to open across the region moving forwards.

“There’s a big audience for this brand,” O’Grady imparted, “both male and female - in terms of buying the treatments as gifts – and we’ll be looking to target a wide range of media channels. It’s an exciting brief.”

O’Grady won the contract after meeting Adele Lock, Gentry’s co-founder, socially and talking about the future of PR and various digital opportunities.

As a result “the rest is history”, quipped O’Grady, and Democracy was appointed without a pitch.

She added that the company had got off to a good start and that she was now “interviewing like crazy” to get further members of staff onboard.
