OCNW, also known as the Open College of the North West, is set to re-brand itself to ASCENTIS next year and has appointed Preston’s Apple Creative Design to handle its all-encompassing creative brief going forward.
Apple has collected the £135,000 task following on from a public tender process that garnered interest from 22 firms from the region and beyond. ASCENTIS on the horizon It will now be looking to provide “creative and strategic service for the extensive qualification portfolio that is offered” by OCNW.For How-Do’ers that may be scratching their heads with regards to what OCNW actually is, it could perhaps best be described as a body akin to City and Guilds. In its thirty year history the independent organisation, based out of Lancaster University, has evolved from its open college routes to provide a broad range of qualifications that are now delivered nationally and internationally. It is recognised as one of the few independent Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA)-approved national awarding bodies. The re-brand, which How-Do understands will form a major part of Apple’s brief, is set to demonstrate OCNW’s move away from its regional roots. In the body’s own words “the new brand name ‘ASCENTIS’ reflects the positive progression and upward mobility which OCNW qualifications give to successful learners.” The ASCENTIS name will come into being from 1 August next year. Apple also works with Blackpool Council and Christie Hospital. http://www.apple-design.com/ Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
