Gillian Buttree, who joined the 200 plus store retailer Pets at Home last September, has left the company with immediate effect.
Neither the company nor Buttree were available for comment.
Buttree Buttree joined the Cheshire-based retailer last autumn from Experian in Nottingham and it is believed that she had retained her family home in the East Midlands.
Buttree was nominated one of How-Do’s Top 100 Marketers just over a week ago and attended the launch event of the initiative in her capacity as marketing director of the company.
Pets at Home, now owned by a private equity company, had plans to float this year but challenging market conditions are believed to have the plan on hold.
One observer suggested that following Buttree’s arrival, a wholesale review of marketing services suppliers to the company had taken place although some subsequent decisions had not been fully executed.
Suppliers to the company include Clear Marketing and Biss Lancaster.
