Cuckoo Design has been appointed to help the UK's largest affinity friendly society, Police Mutual, revamp its online presence and offer an enhanced customer experience to its 210,000 UK-wide membership base.
Cuckoo: arresting creative
The Manchester agency won the brief after a four way pitch and will now aim to develop a fresh web proposition that is "as simple and engaging as possible", as the Mutual, which does not have a branch network or sales team, attempts to keep the competition at bay.

Donna Kerr, head of marketing communication at the society, said of the task ahead: “This was a challenging brief and a major investment for Police Mutual.

"As a business we recognise the potential the web offers in terms of engaging with our target audience, and our intention is to move to a web environment that develops customer relationships."

Cuckoo has now started on the project by undertaking a brand positioning workshop and is set to develop a trial version of the website that will run alongside the existing Police Mutual site.

This be used to engage with members and non members to evaluate the customer experience and refine the site before the wholesale switchover to the new incarnation.

Police Mutual provides financial products and services to retired and serving police officers.
