Rapport Creative has produced a video for Blacon in Chester, as it was named 1 of 10 UK communities to be supported by the Department of Energy and Climate Change as it moves towards becoming a model sustainable community.
The short film describes the “4 greens” in the area - green spaces, green energy, green transport and social enterprises. Over 300 communities applied to the Low Carbon Communities Challenge and Blacon will champion energy efficiency and help local people to cut a fifth off their gas and electricity bills. Sustainable Blacon from Rapport Creative on Vimeo. “When we were approached by Sustainable Blacon to see if we could help with promoting the project we were immediately impressed by the energy, enthusiasm and commitment of the people involved,” said Andy Porter, Rapport Creative’s managing director.
“This was big environmental thinking on a real, community level. Film is a great way to get concepts like this across in an easily digestible way, and it was an opportunity for us to have a positive input on a very worthwhile project, all within cycling distance of our office in Chester!” The short opens with the voice of Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Ed Miliband, but the majority of the narrative is from local people.
