Record number of regional entries for the CIPR PRide awards | Print |  Email to a friend

Over 200 North West entries have been submitted for the PRide Awards which will take place in Manchester on 28 November.

The short listed entries for the 22 categories on offer will be announced shortly.

The awards, which are promoted by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, cover the UK regions and are now in their fifth year.

Almost 1500 entries were submitted nationally, a surprising figure, suggesting the number of North West entries is actually less proportionally than demographics and less than might have been expected from a region which regards itself as the leading PR centre outside the South East.

The CIPR has 13 regions across the UK.

The annual awards aim to ‘recognise excellence and reward achievement in the PR and communications industry’.

Dave Sanders, chairman of the CIPR North West said: “This is a record year for the North West.  With a 25% increase in entries from 2006, it shows how important the awards are to businesses in our region.  This increase in entries also shows the depth and talent of PR professionals we have in the region.”
