An innovative scheme that has apparently "revolutionised recycling in America" is set to make an impact here, with the news that Bollington's IAS b2b Marketing has been given the brief to promote the concept.
RecycleBank is set to be the UK’s first domestic recycling incentive scheme. In short it looks to encourage recycling and reduce waste by awarding points to households for their recycling efforts. These points can then be redeemed at local and national retailers, such as Marks & Spencer, as well as restaurants, leisure facilities and charities.IAS has been charged with developing the branding and design for the domestic market, as well as masterminding the PR strategy and implementation for the launch. Agency MD Rob Morrice explained more: "The RecycleBank concept is a win-win situation. Local authorities benefit from reduced landfill costs, while households get rewarded for doing their bit for the environment. “We’ve developed a branding strategy and PR campaign that will propel this scheme around the country and make sure every local authority and household in the UK is queuing up to get involved.” The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, where RecycleBank is working with the council and waste management firm Veolia Environmental Services (also a IAS client), is trialling the scheme now across 2,800 households. In the US RecycleBank has one million users across 19 states. www.iasb2b.com Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
