Fuse, the Manchester sports marketing agency established last year, has reached agreement with Ricky Hatton’s management, to market the boxer across a ‘range of media platforms’.

Ricky Hatton said “I’m an undefeated world champion and I can’t wait to start working with the brands that Fuse Sport will introduce me to”.’

The agency will be also working with the light welterweight and his agent in an endeavour to bring the Ricky Hatton brand closer to a variety of commercial partners. Fuse claims to be advanced in its discussions with a number of specialist and national media relating to opportunities to work with the boxing champion.

Paul Speak, Hatton’s agent said ‘It’s good to work with a sports agency like Fuse as they understand and appreciate the ambitions that we have for Ricky, and like us are based in Manchester. We’re confident they can help us as we move forward with Ricky’s explosive career.”

Fuse director Adam Roland said: “‘We’re delighted to be working with Ricky Hatton. He’s an exceptional athlete and a real champion.

“He’s one of Manchester‘s favourite sons and it is this exciting combination of exceptional athleticism, and his down to earth, likeable nature that can allow brands a genuine opportunity to work closely with a true world champion.”

Fuse was set up by Roland (previously Talksport head of sponsorship), Tedd Walmsley (20 years with the Telegraph, latterly as a director), Mark Dixon (ex Sportsman and group commercial director of the Telegraph) and Ben Haworth, a former footballer who manages the player management division.

MediavestManchester has a majority stake in the business.

Fuse’s other clients include Coral, AOL, Northern Rock, FourFourTwo magazine and Manchester 235 casino.

Hi - I work for a paper in Wigan called the Wigan Evening Post and our front page story today features an interview (you can see it on the home page of our website www.wigantoday.net) with a lovely 75-year-old chap who floored a violent intruder to protect his bed-ridden wife saying he was inspired by his hero Ricky Hatton.
He is a lovely man who stood up for himself in his own home, thanks to Ricky, and it paid off. The intruder is now serving a jail sentence. We thought Ricky would like to meet Mr Ratcliffe and it would make a brilliant picture opportunity with the two of them. Please read our story and feel free to contact me if you think this is something Ricky would be interested in.
Many thanks
