The University of Manchester Intellectual Property Limited (UMIP) and its sister company, The University of Manchester Incubator Company Limited (UMIC) have tasked Manchester PR agency Roland Dransfield, to raise their profiles.
UMIP, which commercialise inventions from The University of Manchester, is seeking to increase relationships with companies looking for new technologies and collaborations, venture capitalists and business angels wanting to invest in new technologies as well as technology brokers nationwide.
UMIC is looking to raise awareness of its hi-tech and biotech incubator facilities across five locations, including The Core Technology Facility and The Technology Centre at One Central Park. The University has over 40 spin-off companies and over 60 licence arrangements and UMIP is keen to attract greater investment to and commercial interest in its projects and early stage spin-out companies.
Clive Rowland, Chief Executive of UMIP, commented "Manchester has an international reputation for dynamic enterprise and entrepreneurial activities. New technologies developed at The University of Manchester are at the cutting edge of their fields and UMIP’s goal is to find the most appropriate commercialisation routes into national and global markets. The time is right to raise the profile of the organisation and to take UMIP out to a wider audience hence the appointment of a marketing consultancy."Something to add?
