Sainsbury's is launching a new campaign to promote its joint venture with HBOS plc - Sainsbury's Bank. The media for the reported £10m campaign is being bought by PHD North.
The campaign focuses on the Internet Saver product runs across TV, radio, press, video streaming and online. PHD North has planned and bought all the offline media. PHD’s London office holds the Sainsbury’s supermarket account and PHD’s Manchester based financial services team will be liaising with PHD planners in London to optimise the impact of mutual campaigns.
The creative for the campaign is being handled by AMV BBDO in London.
Universal McCann in Manchester is believed to have retained the online advertising.
PHD North last worked with Sainsbury’s financial services division in 2005/6 when it launched the Little Bill insurance campaign. Jan Cutting, head of national advertising at Sainsbury’s said "This campaign is part of a major step forward for us and it’s great to be working with a media agency which has such a wealth of expertise.”
Lorraine Jones at PHD North, said: “We relish the opportunity to extend our relationship with Sainsbury’s Bank. Financial services is an increasingly cluttered sector, so building relevance and trust through media represents our key media opportunity.”
