Salford University appoints Huggon as marketing director |

The University of Salford has appointed former Shell, Mars and BP marketer, Phil Huggon as its new marketing director.
 Huggon He will lead a team of 30 marketing staff across the specialised marketing teams in the schools and faculties of the University. His brief is help to raise the University’s profile and attract more UK and international students and partners to study or work with Salford.
The University was commended in the How-Do Awards for its innovative student marketing initiative Curious.
Huggon said: “After a career of marketing oil and pet food, I had a form of mid-life crisis at the age of 40 and decided I wanted to do something more worthwhile and chose to apply my industry marketing and change-management skills to higher education.
“I want to raise the profile of Salford, not only for its teaching and research quality, but also to highlight its great location and the benefits that university study can bring to people of all backgrounds.”
