The long term relationship between Manchester advertising agency BJL, and Bradford & Bingley is in doubt following Santander’s decision to drop the old branding.
The Spanish banking giant has taken the decision to rebrand Abbey, Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley under its own name by the end of next year. That will mean the end of the Bradford & Bingley bowler hat. "What's the Spanish for bowler hat?" The cost of the move is said to be in the region of £12m, which doesn’t include the cost of advertising or expenses. In October last year it made the decision to move its media account from Mediacom North to Carat in London, but it was “business as normal” for BJL. Today a spokesperson at the agency told How-Do about its “ongoing relationship” with Bradford & Bingley: “We are concluding our rebranding assignment at present and beyond that have a good relationship with, but no live briefs from Santander.” Something to add?
