Virgin Megastores has appointed creative agency Sequoia to promote its new website.
The agency won the work following a three way pitch against two undisclosed London agencies.
The marketing activity will cover several communications channels including press, online display ads and e-crm activity. All the creative work and production is being handled by Sequoia with the media being bought separately.
Andy Johns, business development director at the Chester agency said: “This is a sector that we are passionate about. The brief to take a fresh look at the way Virgin markets its online offering was right up our street. We believe our strategy will drive real awareness and help improve financial returns considerably.”
Sequoia was set up in 1989 and claims a turnover of circa £5m. Over 50 staff are employed across its offices in Chester and London. The agency’s main market sectors are retail and financial services and other clients include Virgin Media, Microsoft, Oddbins, The Co-operative Group and HBoS.
Sequoia is currently rolling out a major multimedia point of sale campaign for Virgin Media and Comet.
