Sister Manchester agencies Staniforth and TBWA have been drafted in by washing brand Original Source to help publicise its sponsorship of the UK Athletics Hero Scheme.

Sister Manchester agencies Staniforth and TBWA have been drafted in by washing brand Original Source to help publicise its sponsorship of the UK Athletics Hero Scheme.
A refreshing approach
Original Source is currently in the second year of its three-year agreement to sponsor UK Athletics and has decided to extend its remit to support the new Hero scheme.

This is designed specifically to nurture young athletes in their bid to be the best in their chosen sporting discipline, whilst raising awareness of their commitment to athletics in their local community.

The brand is working to ensure that the sporting prodigies get off to the best start by providing each of them with bursaries up to the value of £1,000 to assist with their associated training costs.

In addition Original Source sponsored Adidas kits and product will also be provided throughout the scheme.

The agencies will be assisting this drive with nationwide PR support, courtesy of Staniforth, and an advertising and promotional campaign devised by TBWA\Manchester to celebrate the new partnership.

Andrea Thompson, Original Source UK Athletics project manager, said; "With the Beijing Olympics taking place in August this year and London hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, there has never been a more exciting time for UK Athletics.

"We are delighted to be able to continue our support of UK Athletics with the 2008 Hero scheme, and to make a difference at a grass roots level, nurturing Britain's athletic stars of tomorrow".
