Going live from November it will take on TV, outdoor, online, radio, press and pretty much everything else.

Stream\ which is owned by TBWA\ was behind the choice of Cilmi for the project. They haven’t revealed which song she will be covering, but there will be joint promotional activities for the Co-operative and the singer.

"This year, we wanted something different, something that would encapsulate that Christmas feeling that you share with family and friends at such a special time, whilst conveying the key attributes that The Co-operative has to offer," explained Debbie Robinson, The Co-operative’s director of food and retail marketing.

"Working with such talent has enabled us to do this. The fit between artist and the creative is perfect and we cannot wait to release it to the public."

"An unbelievable amount and high level of talent has come together to create this year's Co-operative Christmas campaign" added Robert Harwood-Matthews, CEO of TBWA\Manchester.

"The campaign reflects The Co-operative's key values, whilst adding a touch of magical Christmas spirit."

I like the Co-op food campaign - "gud with fud" is really distinctive. Not sure about the use of music like this though - it feels a bit obvious and rather DFS like. Let's hope it's not as irritating as their offering this Christmas...

Much as I like Gabrielle Climi why do ad agecies not look to home grown talent for background warbling? Thereby reinforcing the home grown ethical blurb the Co Op pushes out throughout its group business? Actually why is there this overall trend in going anywhere for anything outside of the UK - especially when we need cash here?
