Trevor Johnson joins Creative Lynx as creative director | Print |  Email to a friend
Thursday, 07 June 2007
Manchester design agency Creative Lynx has recruited Trevor Johnson, a nationally acclaimed designer, to head up its creative offering.

Johnson has over 25 years experience in design and is perhaps best known for his work – alongside Peter Saville - for Factory Records, the Hacienda and Factory’s iconic bands. His name can often be found when digging around famous Manchester brands and promotional organisations.

Prior to joining Creative Lynx, Trevor was creative director of Via, a design agency he founded. It was at Via that he developed a number of brands associated with regeneration including projects for New Islington. He will retain his commitments to Via.

Creative Lynx which handles range of accounts, now focuses increasingly on pharmaceutical, education and public sector clients. Regeneration and development is a growing part of the company’s output with projects including the Commonwealth Games, regeneration of Canal Street and parts of Castlefield, projects in New East Manchester and the bid for Sportcity in east Manchester.

Agency work outside the region includes projects in Corby (Northants) and a nice niche in international quangos with clients including the United Nations, the World Health Organisation and the Global Fund.

The company was established 21 years ago and currently generates sales of c£3.5m and employs 35 staff across its Manchester and Geneva offices.

Johnson said: “I’m excited to be working with Creative Lynx. I was initially attracted to the agency as they have integrity in what they do, something not often seen in our industry. We’ve both been active in Manchester for a number of years and have worked hard to promote the city to outsiders and those who live within it. The continued buzz in the city is testimony to some of that having an effect. I admire Creative Lynx for their work in Manchester and I’m sure we’ll produce some great work together.”

Managing director of Creative Lynx, Stuart Wilson added: “We’ve known and collaborated with Trevor for some time now and have long been great fans of his work. Trevor has a consistency that is not often matched by designers and his experience will feed through to our young team.

“Between us we have been instrumental in changing perceptions of the city we are both very
proud to have been part of.”
