UCLan searches for agency to handle wide-ranging £1.5m task
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has kick-started a search for a new agency, or agencies, to handle its entire marketing needs. UCLan is believed to be keen to sign up a team for three years, offering a budget of around £500k per annum.

If the brief should be awarded to a single agency it will have to be a master of many disciplines. The institution is looking for expertise across all areas; from advertising to digital, and design to media buying. Bearing this in mind though, it is also believed to be keen to listen to groups of smaller agencies that may wish to pitch their individual talents in tandem with one another.

Specific tasks it highlights amongst those disciplines include: pay per click advertising, online AV (audio visual), magazine production, cinema and TV advertising, POS and electronic and traditional direct mail. All these activities are believed to be focused on ongoing student recruitment.

Speaking to How-Do, a spokesperson for UCLan imparted that the interested agencies needed to have submitted their desire to pitch for the business by the middle of November. The contact itself will run from May of next year through to April 2011.

The UCLan representative also noted that the university’s current agencies of choice are Grisdale Lesniak Swann for creative and John Aylings for media buying.
