Vertigo releases details of six-figure American Golf appointment | Print |  Email to a friend
Wednesday, 16 January 2008
After the news that American Golf had appointed Vertigo got lost in the hubbub surrounding the agency’s acquisition by MC2 last week, the team has now released more details about their biggest account win to date.

American Golf is Europe’s largest golf retailer and has appointed Vertigo, now the brand division of MC2, to spearhead its Go4Golf initiative – a nationwide tour to find the best young playing stars of the future.

The task apparently comes with a six-figure fee value and will see Vertigo promoting the 40 town and city UK-wide tour, which ‘tees off’ in March. It is hoped that the activity will help raise the profile of  American Golf’s 71 national stores within the crucial youth market.

Vertigo co-founder Karen Lee commented: ““We’ve been given a fantastic opportunity to implement a high profile, fully integrated national campaign in the development of the ‘Go4Golf’ tour.

“The brief has given us scope for much creativity and we can’t wait to implement what is sure to be a dynamic and results driven initiative that gets as many children involved in the sport as possible.”

Go4Golf is set to involve celebrity endorsement, a nationwide programme of outdoor events, national and regional media sponsorships, product giveaways and the exploitation of a dedicated website - www.go4golf.co.uk. Vertigo will work in tandem the retailer’s stores, councils and educational bodies.
