Premier Foods has turned to Wayne Rooney to feature in their latest Hovis TV ads.

The Manchester United striker has signed a deal reportedly worth £150,000, as the company tries to win some market share from Bolton’s Warburtons .

The ad is filmed in Liverpool and it’s believed it’ll echo the famous commercial which saw a child push a bread delivery bike up a steep cobbled street.

That one was voted one of the best ads ever and directed by Ridley Scott.

So young Rooney has a lot to live up to – but he’s used to that.
