Willow Water turns to Brazen | Print |  Email to a friend
Friday, 29 August 2008

Willow Water has chosen Brazen to promote its bottled spring water in the UK and Ireland, following a 3 way pitch.

The water is sourced from Flookbrough in the Lake District and if the press release is anything to go by, the people of Flookbrough must be the most attractive in the world.

Willow Water turns to Brazen
For apparently the water is not just a drink, it cures eczema, acne and gives you a blemish-free complexion.

Brazen will be capitalising on this theme with their campaign, "There’s something in the water" and journalists will be challenged to take the "Beauty Water Challenge" to drink themselves pretty...

"Brazen impressed us with the clarity of their response to our brief. They immediately understood where we needed to be and have presented a clear strategy of how to get there," explained Clywd Price-Jones, managing director of Willow Water.

"The refreshing, smooth tasting water not only turns your recommended daily intake of 1.5L of water into a pleasurable experience, but also brightens your skin," said a glowing and youthful looking Brazen senior account director, Peter Burling.

Listen up, here comes the science bit... Willow Water is filtered through the Lake District’s limestone layers and picks up salicin, a derivative of White Willow bark and it’s this which is said to help dermatological conditions.

Heh, sounds like nonsense. I'm sure Brazen won't run foul of the ASA!

Often skincare products can contain unnecessary ingredients such as colors or fragrance. This is the problem, more so than having the right water.

But also look out for harsh preservatives, like parabens, which can trigger an eczema flare-up.

In the US, the National Eczema Society has recently published a list of ingredient to avoid - worth considering for anyone with sensitive skin.

I found another really useful site that lets you compare the ingredients of several leading brands, its from a company called exederm

Exederm make ultra hypoallergenic skin care products for adults and kids with eczema or dermatitis
