Vestas Wind Systems, one of the largest wind energy companies in the world, has appointed Wordsworks to provide English language copywriting services.
The Danish company has retained the Stockport-based agency to provide copy for online and offline publications, which will include writing from scratch and editing translations from non-native English speakers.
Wordsworks has already completed a website for Vestas India, a micro-site for the Copenhagen Climate summit and 3 product brochures. “It’s a fantastic win for us. Vestas is a global leader in its field. We were pitching against some national writing agencies, but the quality of our work and the clients we work with won the day,” said Gareth Chadwick, creative director at Wordsworks. “This autumn has been our busiest quarter ever. More and more firms are recognising that they need to communicate their expertise and their brand in a way that reinforces their credibility, not detracts from it. Creating professional, clear and engaging written material is fundamental to that.” Vestas operates in 63 countries and, we're told, installed a new wind turbine every 3 hours last year, with enough combined power to provide electricity for every household in a country the size of Spain.
