“That man,” commented an industry observer upon hearing this news, “just never stops winning.”
The winning campaign Iain Ratcliffe’s marketing and communications team at Stockport Council have won yet another prestigious industry gong, with the announcement that they have just triumphed in the ‘Internal Communications’ category at the 2007 PR Week Awards. In doing so they pipped finalists ITV, M&S and Westminster City Council to the prize. The achievement comes in recognition of the teams ‘winning healthy hearts and minds’ campaign, launched in an effort to tackle stress within the workplace. A survey carried out in conjunction with the initiative illustrated that 72% of employees felt that stress levels had increased. To combat this the Stockport team introduced schemes such as the 'Wellbeing Workout', 'Stepwise Competition' and the 'Healthwise Challenge' which encouraged staff to think about healthier alternatives such as taking the stairs instead of the lift and to eat more fruit during the working day. Commenting on the latest trophy to adorn the team’s mantlepiece, Ratcliffe said: We make sure that our communications to our staff are clear, concise and easily understood. But we also want to ensure that they are fun and keep people interested. By picking up this award we feel we hit all out targets in a campaign which proved a roaring success." Something to add?
