A world-wide file sharing site has gone online following the collaboration of two North West companies.
YUDU Freedom Manchester-based Flame Digital has designed and built the site for Lancashire’s Yudu Media.Yudufreedom.com allows people to upload PDF versions of their documents, brochures or books and convert them into digital editions to share. In the first week 2000 publications have been created. The resource is free, although there is a business version which is charged for. Flame’s brief was to aim the site at “prosumers” – who are “professional consumers with a thirst for user generated content”.
“By making this publishing site free for everyone, YUDU intend to further advance the already flourishing trend for online publishing so that it will become more common practice in everyday life,” explained YUDU Media’s Richard Stephenson.
“In particular the green credentials of this form of publishing will become more pertinent to both individuals and businesses.” Something to add? Then leave a comment below or email us now.
