Bury’s Big Spark Media has signed up Wayne Hemmingway, This Morning’s David Domoney and Christine Walker from the BBC for the launch of the UK’s only colour tabloid for the landscape industry.
Mailed out to almost 20,000 named business individuals each month, and aiming for a readership of 53,000, UK Landscape Today is to be marketed as the definitive publication for an increasingly lucrative sector. Launching on 16th November the magazine will cover everything from domestic garden design, to tenders, new equipment, jobs and estate management – mixing together news, features and opinion. The latter will come from well-known contributors such as Christine Walker, from the BBC’s Christine’s Garden, and, according to Big Spark MD Stuart Parker, potentially from former pop-star turned lifestyle guru Kim Wilde, as from issue two (Hemmingway and Domoney have also signed up). Big Spark was the subject of a MBO, led by Parker, in August and publishes a raft of magazines, including; My Home in the Sunshine, My Money and Relax, while handling contract publishing for firms such as Makro, Littlewoods and BAA.
